Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and JC Design Intelligence, LLC (“ContactAssist,” “we,” “us”). By clicking “Continue with Google” or otherwise using ContactAssist, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

ContactAssist connects to your Google Workspace account and, at a daily time you choose, scans the last 24 hours of your Gmail inbox for messages from parents discussing students. Matching messages are summarized by an AI model and appended as rows in a Google Sheet inside your Drive. You can also request AI-drafted replies, which are saved as drafts in your Gmail; you decide when (or whether) to send them.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the Google account you use to sign in and for any activity that occurs under your ContactAssist account. Notify us promptly at drj@jcdesignintelligence.com of any unauthorized use.

• ContactAssist is offered on a paid subscription basis (monthly or annual). Current pricing is shown on the Pricing page.
• New accounts include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. After the trial ends, your payment method is charged at the plan rate until you cancel.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms. You authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for recurring subscription fees and any applicable taxes.
• Cancellations: you can cancel at any time from the Stripe customer portal linked in the app. Cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid period continues to the end of its term.
• Refunds: subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review in good faith.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

You agree not to:

• Use ContactAssist for any purpose that violates law, school district policy, or the rights of others (including student privacy laws such as FERPA and applicable state analogues).
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the operation of the service, or resell access to it.
• Upload malicious code or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Use the service to harass, threaten, or send unsolicited bulk communications.

You are solely responsible for how you use the AI-drafted replies. Review them before sending; you decide what leaves your Gmail account.

You retain all rights to your Gmail messages, your Google Sheet, and any data ContactAssist processes on your behalf. You grant us a limited license to access that data solely to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at any time from Google Account permissions or from the Settings page in ContactAssist.

ContactAssist uses third-party AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to summarize emails and draft replies. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before acting on it or sending it. ContactAssist is not a substitute for professional judgment, and no AI output should be treated as legal, medical, or educational advice.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scans depend on Google's APIs, which may be temporarily unavailable or rate-limited. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time; we will give reasonable notice for material changes affecting paid subscribers.

You may stop using ContactAssist and disconnect at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if your account is inactive for an extended period. On termination, we will delete your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will ContactAssist, JC Design Intelligence, LLC, or its officers, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JC Design Intelligence, LLC and its personnel from and against any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect for paid subscribers. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
